At the beginning of October the annual wine harvest festival, ‘Fête des Vendanges’, takes place in Montmartre. The festival lasts for 5 days and celebrates all things wine, with the welcome addition of music, food markets and entertainment. This festival is a yearly tradition and marks the beginning of the fall season.

For the last 60 years, on the third Thursday of November, France also celebrates ‘Beaujolais Nouveau’. On this day the newest ‘Beaujolais Nouveau’ wine is released, just weeks after the wine’s grapes have been harvested. If you are in Paris on this evening, head to your local bar or bistrot to taste a glass of this famous wine and participate in this French tradition.  Click here to find your nearest participating bar.

If wine isn’t for you, why not warm yourself up with a cup of delicious hot chocolate. Make your way to Angelina’s or Ladurée to grab yourself one of their famous hot cocoas, we promise you won’t regret it.

In the United States, November is equally a big month for celebrating traditions, one word: Thanksgiving. Have you ever thought about spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Paris?
Where to get your Thanksgiving day dinner with all the fixins’?
There are a few restaurants around Paris that put on a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for those that find themselves in Paris during the holiday. (Booking in advance is strongly recommended).

If you decide you want to give your own Thanksgiving dinner a go, two great stores that will stock everything you need to make your Thanksgiving authentic are:

Thanksgiving        20 Rue Saint-Paul, 75004      Metro: Saint Paul

Real McCoys        194 Rue de Grenelle, 75007     Metro: Ecole Militaire

By renting an apartment you will have a fully equipped kitchen to prepare the meal and a large enough dining area to host your family and friends.  Make it a holiday to remember and mix things up this year!

A La Carte’s Autumn Apartment of the Month

Our Autumn apartment of the month: Eiffel Excellence, would be the perfect place to host your Thanksgiving dinner. There is a spacious living and dining area as well as a fully equipped kitchen. It has two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms, making it the perfect apartment for a family or group of friends visiting Paris.

The Eiffel Excellence apartment is located just around the corner from the Eiffel Tower in the chic and sought-after 7th district. Cafés, shops and restaurants are in abundance and you will feel right at home.

Hear what Susan & Matthew Davies had to say about their stay at Eiffel Excellence this summer:

Eiffel Excellence fully lived up to its name! We had a fabulous stay. The apartment became our home away from home. The neighborhood was terrific. While we took in all the big Paris sites, our children (ages 13 & 9) loved the apartment and neighborhood most of all. We wanted them to experience the “real” Paris — not an American hotel or a hop-on bus tour. We could not have been happier with our choice. We began every morning with fresh pastry (steps from our front door) and ended each night at a neighborhood cafe with sparkling views of the Eiffel Tower. Thank you for a truly magical experience!”

So what are you waiting for? Book the Eiffel Excellence apartment now to benefit from a special discounted rate for ANY booking taken until the end of November.
